By the third time, whether he likes it or not, and he definitely does not, he begins accepting that she's going to be a part of the life he's making over. What he doesn't realize is that even with his acceptance things aren't going to go as he's planned.
As a writer, when working on a story, we're supposed to ask ourselves "what's the one thing these two can give each other no one else can?" because that one thing is what is going to draw them past their issues in the end.
Misty's answer to that question wasn't as subtle as some of the others I've discovered. No, her long-stemmed tulip became a heavy hitter's bat when even I least expected it. Every story has a special place in my heart, and always for a different reason. This one is no different, but damn if that reason didn't make me a little tearful when it revealed itself.
